I saw this canvas…

It spoke to me…
Told me how life had been…
Not different from a lonely tree…
Living for the day when
some estranged traveller might
find solace around her too…
that she too would have more than just hope to look forward to………
The misery, the sorrow, the agony in her eyes
Spoke about how she had lost her smile…
The longing for love…
That never came…
The misled trust…
That never stayed………..
She wanted to cry… but tears never came…
Her heart told her to hope…
And to hope she never failed………..
Hope! Is indeed very strange..
Like a facade… it shields away the pain
Like a mirage… it loves to play
But also gives strength when all else fails!!!
So… never lose Hope!
Cause… as they say…
Only Hope that one day you will find the shore to roam…
Can make one sail even through the worst storm!

Bengal… to its roots

It was in October 2009 that I got a chance to explore West Bengal a bit. I had joined KWS (Kolkata Weekend Shoots; also called Kolkata Weekend Foodies :-)). That was probably my first and the last exhaustive road trip with the club. But I enjoyed every moment of it though language was a bit of problem!

I got some amazing shots that day and got back home really happy and content. I’m sharing some of the shots here. Can find the masters on My Flickr.

Free world?! Not really!

These are some very recent pictures clicked in a zoo in Kolkata, West Bengal.

It was quite sad to look at these animals stuffed together in cages; not a vey good experience of visiting such a place!

The Street; Kolkata

It was raining that day... and probably it was the first time i had come out to the streets of Kolkata to capture its essence. Thats when i came across these kids.

They had gotten all so excited about someone trying to take their pictures. Though one of them was a real smart kid. He came up to me and said "Aise kya photo leta hai? Paisa de humko! tu toh isko bech dega!". He meant - Why are you taking our pictures? We need money now as you are going to make money out of it too! Now that came as a shock to me as he wouldn't have been more than 5-6 years of age and he was too smart for his age!

After talking to all of them for sometime they got ready for letting me click them and the deal was i had to give them some money and chocolates which i didn't mind doing.

And Voila! I managed to get some real nice photographs that day.

This set is in B&W as probably Kolkata looks better that way! ... Well obviously not always!!
